Stop At: Keshava Temple, Somnathpur

We get off the highway for an extended detour through lush countryside to reach this stunning Hindu temple( a ruin) from 1268 AD. It is nominated as a UNESCO heritage site and awaiting accreditation. Some of humankind's most exquisite stone carvings and sculptures are here. Our accompanying expert guide will introduce its history, Hinduism, its pantheon of gods, and the context of each beautiful carving.

Stop At: Mysuru/Mysore Palace

We explore this bejeweled palace, among the most visited sites in India and the home of one of the wealthiest individuals in the world in its heyday – the Maharaja of Mysore. From our accompanying expert guide, learn about the Wodeyar rulers and their incredible contributions to putting this region on the global map as we leisurely survey and explore the interiors & exteriors of this dazzling palace.

Stop At: Devaraja Market, Mysore

Our accompanying expert guide will take you through a stroll inside an 1880s market stuck in a time warp. As you take a walk back in time, marvel at the sights, smells and sounds of the shops & people in the bazaar selling the choicest fruits, flowers, vegetables, bangles and local produce such as Jaggery, Attar, Masalas etc.

Stop At: Srirangapatna

From Mysore, we drive to the historic river island of Srirangapatna. Here we break for a relaxed and sumptuous lunch at a picturesque setting by the gurgling waters of the River Cauvery.

Stop At: Dariya Daulat Palace - Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, Srirangapatna

Our final stop is the exquisite 1780s wooden palace of Tipu Sultan, where every inch of its interiors has delicate frescoes and murals of evocative battle scenes, floral and geometric patterns and portraits. Our accompanying expert guide will provide context to each hand painted artwork and regale you with stories of the valiant efforts of this ruler, the Tiger of Mysore, against the colonial powers of the time.

This tour came highly recommended from a number of colleagues (one of which did this tour twice!). Our tour guide was Pradeep, who also was my tour guide for the Bangalore Through the Ages tour (highly recommend).We learned so much history about Mysore - from temples, palaces, and the city itself thanks to Pradeep. He is extremely knowledgeable about each stop on the tour which is highly appreciated and much better than doing these sites by yourself.The trip is quite long, but is broken out in a way where it doesn’t feel like you’re sitting in the car for too long of a stretch at a time. I highly recommend this tour to those looking to get out of Bangalore for a day!

Had an amazing 6 days in Bengaluru with the customised itinerary prepared by Hidden Gems Tours.Visited ancient temples and palaces that took our breath away, and the food was unforgettable. The visit to Toit Brewery was really fun and met many friendly beer-loving folks.Most notable were the day trip out to the beautiful Mysore Palace and the hike up Nandi Hills that had spectacular views of Bengaluru. Would like to specially thank Praveen and Pradeep who were very knowledgeable and shared so many interesting facts about South India's history. Food was delicious and came super fast as Pradeep made sure we had priority. The driver was super safe and I felt very comfortable during the whole tour. I highly recommend this trip. Praveen is a very knowledgeable guide, his enthusiasm and hospitability will get you the best and make this day trip truly special. This trip is not just about Mysore palace, but has much more to offer: you will have a glimpse of a colorful busy market, you can try some tasty local food, visit a magnificent ancient temple, and experience the peaceful summer palace. We even had an extra stop for coconuts, and learned some interesting facts about the cocoon market auctions. Our driver was top skilled.

I really enjoyed this tour. Parveen was a wonderful guide and our driver was great as well. Breakfast and lunch were some of the best meals I’ve had on my visit. I really enjoyed the “extra” stops as a few felt like things that maybe don’t draw quite as many tourists. I highly recommend this tour.
